Walks around the Fortress

The surroundings arround the Fortress is ideal for shorter or longer walks. 

Russarstegen/the Russian path
This brisk trip starts by Gjerdet Kulturmunnegard, and is 600 metres in length. The hike takes you approx. 125 metres above sea level, meaning it gets your pump going. You will end up by the cafe.

Rundtur langs Flakken / roundtrip along Flakken:
The hike is in on a pebbled road, and the entire roundtrip is approx. 2 km. Starts and ends by the Cafe. The trips goes along a wooden path, where the birds are chirping, and lush forrest surround you. If you are lucky, you might spot a wild animal. Along the way bunkers are to be seen , and if you are very interested you can go off the path to explore the area and even more bunkers. This hike is suitable for strollers.

Tur til Liatårnet via pyttane / trip to the Lia tower via “pyttane” :
This one is for those of you who want a more challenging hike, it takes approx. 1,5 hours. Park at the parking lot by the main road (555), follow the sign to Fjell Fortress. At the top the reward will be a very nice view of the North sea, and the mountains surrounding the city of Bergen.
